Killing Gaza is a cinematic chronicle of the crushing toll of Israel’s campaign of disproportionate force, exposing in intimate detail how unbelievable levels violence was directed against the civilian population of Gaza. You will hear their incredible testimonies of survival and how they are coping with the unimaginable losses they suffered. The stories they tell highlight the humanity and courage of a people who have been demonized in Western media as terrorists and worse.

Killing #Gaza is also a portrait of their daily acts of resistance and courage that define the lives of Gaza’s besieged people. For some who appear in our film, resistance means interpreting Palestinian oppression through breakdance performances. For others we will feature, it means poetry, painting, and education about the outside world they have been violently separated from. Then there are those who have taken up arms against their occupier. In Killing Gaza, you will hear members of Gaza’s armed factions explain why they fight —in their own words and without a Western filter.

Killing Gaza promises to be the most politically unflinching and visually stunning film to date on Israel’s 2014 assault on the Gaza Strip, following the war from the battle of Shujaiya to the devastating Israeli assaults on major residential towers at the end of the conflict to the manmade humanitarian catastrophe that followed.

Max Blumenthal and Dan Cohen documented the assault on Gaza during the war and chronicled its horrific aftermath during two seasons of some of the most extreme weather the region has ever experienced. As we waded through the rubble of Gaza’s destroyed border regions, we turned a camera onto the survivors of the slaughter and let them speak for themselves. And Dan returned, week after week, to capture on film the daily struggles of the people of Gaza as they suffered through one of the worst winters in recorded history, and then weathered the sweltering summer heat without electricity and in many cases, without homes.

The 51-day-long Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip in 2014 saw Israel wield more violence against the besieged civilian population than ever before. Over 2200 people were killed, including some 550 children, and 100,000 homes were estimated destroyed. Almost a year and a half later, the reconstruction promised by the international community has not taken place. Instead, a humanitarian catastrophe has taken hold among the traumatized people of Gaza, deepening each day as the international media and Western governments turn their gaze elsewhere.

“Universal Basic Income is often promoted as an idea that will solve inequality and make people less dependent on capitalist employment. However, it will instead aggravate inequality and reduce social programs that benefit the majority of people. ” To read full article here

“The longer we are ruled by oligarchs, the deadlier our predicament becomes, especially since the oligarchs refuse to address climate change, the greatest existential crisis to humankind. The oligarchs have many mechanisms, including wholesale surveillance, to keep us in check. They will stop at nothing to maintain the sophistry of their rule. History may not repeat itself, but it echoes. And if we don’t recognize these echoes and then revolt, we will be herded into the abattoirs that tyrannies set up at the end of their existence.”  \
