Hi Friends 😊 I hope this finds you well. As you know it was a little less than 2 months ago (Aug 16, 2020 ) that I started my Patreon account. In the last couple of weeks I have been thinking about it and I’ve decided I will disable my Patreon in the next little while for a couple of reasons.
The main reason to be honest (as I mentioned in my FSfV video when I first considered this), is I can not seem to get comfortable taking donations from anyone particularly at the time of a pandemic. And secondly, at this time when US independent journalists appear to be struggling during this pandemic and have lost a number of Patreon supporters (who can no longer afford to support them), I would rather people give to them instead since they are important and a much needed source of real information. They are good people who deserve our support. I’m not a journalist. They are. Ultimately real leftist independent journalists (whom I mention on my channel) are my sources and without them I would have little to report 😳😂 haha.
I may continue to monetise the occasional older vegan video and the proceeds (if there are any) will go to a vegan animal sanctuary.
I’m really grateful for your ongoing support on Faint Signals from Vega. It means a lot to me. Maybe in the distant future when things settle I might be able to bring myself to relaunch my Patreon acct. I don’t know. I doubt it. I probably won’t but who knows. 🤔🐱😊 I guess I’ve spent the last 15 years without any donations or funding of any kind and I’m used to it.
